In preparation for the annual Etobicoke-Lakeshore Christmas Parade, local professional artists lead free community workshops in which participants create metre-high papier màché masks of historical notables from the Lakeshore. Subjects are chosen with the help of local historical societies. High school students help with construction and costume design, and wear the masks in the parade, which takes place on the first Saturday in December.
