The Waterfront Trail Artists are pleased to announce their winter schedule for classes at the WTA Community Art Centre, located at 2979 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (south side, between 8th and 9th Streets).
After School Classes for Children
First Creations
Beginner Drawing (Ages 5-7)
Mondays, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. (starts Jan. 11, 2010)
Learn to draw animals, insects, and reptiles using simple geometric shapes. $58.80 for 8 weeks (GST included; all materials supplied).

Mixed Media (Ages 5-7)
Wednesdays, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. (starts Jan. 13, 2010)
Students will be exposed to a variety of art materials and will create work reflecting Ontario Curriculum requirements for their grade level. $58.80 for 8 weeks (GST included; all materials supplied).

Fine Art (Ages 7-13)
Saturdays, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. (starts Jan. 9, 2010)
Drawing, painting, and sculpture for beginning and intermediate students. Develop drawing skills necessary in creating paintings and sculpture. $96.60 for 8 weeks (GST included; one-time $5.00 material fee for art pencil, eraser, and paint brush; all other materials supplied).

Beginner Animé (Ages 7-13)
Saturdays, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. (starts Jan. 9, 2010)
Learn step-by-step how to create Animé-style characters like Mashimaro, Chibi kids, and Chibe animals. $96.60 for 8 weeks (GST included; all materials supplied).

Sundays, noon - 2:00 p.m. (starts Jan. 10, 2010)
Students will work in teams on story construction, sequencing, camera angles, layout, design, and figurative drawing in order to produce a short comic book story. $96.60 for 8 weeks (GST included; all materials supplied).

Flip Book Animation (Ages 7-13)
Sundays, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. (starts Jan. 10, 2010)
Beginning and intermediate students will learn step-by-step how to create flip book animations from two to thirty-five pages. Participants will draw their own characters and create their own scenarios. $96.60 for 8 weeks (GST included; all materials supplied).

Weekday Evening Classes for Youth, Adults, and Seniors
Watercolour
Mondays, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. (starts Jan. 11, 2010)

Acrylic Painting (Ages 18 and older)

Learn different ways of using acrylic paints to create representational or abstract works on board or canvas. $26.25 per workshop (GST included; some materials supplied).
